Spreeha Foundation received a $25,000 grant from the Law, Societies, and Justice Department’s Philanthropy Lab program at the University of Washington to provide health care, counseling, and preschools for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

Philanthropy Lab is a private foundation working through universities in the United States to increase philanthropy education. Students participating in the Philanthropy Lab at the UW evaluated grant proposals and presentations from 22 Global Washington nonprofit organizations. In awarding Spreeha its top grant, the students will now advance the proposal to the National Philanthropy Lab Ambassador conference and advocate for additional grant dollars to increase Spreeha’s response to the Rohingya refugee crisis.

The crisis is dire and the need is great. Spreeha would like to express its thanks to the students of the class, Professor Stephen Meyers, Global Washington, as well as Spreeha volunteers and donors for their continued support.
