FOUNDING STORY

ONE PERSON’S PASSSION,
NOW EVERYONE’S SPREEHA

After his mother’s cancer diagnosis, Tazin Shadid decided to use his human-centered design expertise at Microsoft to solve healthcare challenges for underserved communities in Bangladesh. He started a mobile clinic in a Dhaka slum in 2007.

Later on, in 2012 he established Spreeha Foundation and developed a holistic model that helps underserved communities to thrive.

Today, Spreeha is building a network of tech-enabled hyper-local urgent care centers, ensuring accessible and high-quality healthcare for low and middle-income communities. In the last 12 years, Spreeha has impacted more than 700,000 lives in Bangladesh and beyond.

Spreeha Foundation is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN: 45-3361624) in the US and as an NGO under the NGO Affairs Bureau in Bangladesh.

Spreeha Foundation operates under the guidance of a dedicated Board and executive team and maintains the highest standards of transparency and accountability in our mission to empower communities.
